WAD COPY from FTP site fails in 14.03.51

WinXP SP3 home TCC in stand-alone window
I tried to download the latest files from Vince's FTP site using these commands into an empty directory tree:

Code:
iftp ftp://lucky.syr.edu/4plugins
copy/[!descript.ion]/efgrhv/netj/j /s /[d-21] ftp:

Using the newest build, 14.03.51, none of the files was properly copied, no error was reported:

Code:
 Directory of F:\DOWNLOAD\JPDL\PLUGINS\FATICA\LUCKY\ZZZZ\*

2012-11-26 22:35 <DIR> X64
2012-11-25 15:40 95 4console.zip
2012-11-26 15:43 2,048 4threads.zip
2012-11-26 15:30 2,048 4utils.zip
2012-11-06 05:41 2,048 sysutils.zip

 Directory of F:\DOWNLOAD\JPDL\PLUGINS\FATICA\LUCKY\ZZZZ\X64\*

2012-11-26 15:31 107 4console64.zip
2012-11-26 15:30 2,048 4utils64.zip
2012-11-26 15:31 2,048 sysutils64.zip

I executed the same commands in 13.04.63, the result was:

Code:
 Directory of F:\DOWNLOAD\JPDL\PLUGINS\FATICA\LUCKY\ZZZZ\*

2012-11-26 22:36 <DIR> X64

Not reproducible here, with either the 32-bit or 64-bit versions. (Even with your highly dubious syntax!)

Anybody else able to reproduce this?
I copied/pasted Steve's commands right from the forum to a command line (lousy syntax and all). I'm not sure what I was supposed to get but I did get a bunch:
Code:
v:\zips> copy/[!descript.ion]/efgrhv/netj/j /s /[d-21] ftp:
ftp://lucky.syr.edu/4plugins/4console.zip => V:\zips\4console.zip

ftp://lucky.syr.edu/4plugins/X64/sysutils64.zip => V:\zips\X64\sysutils64.zip

The files are ZIP files to distribute Vince's plugins. I just tried again and had the same result: no file exceeding 2,048 bytes.

If this is you, this is what I see:

Yes, I know that they SHOULD be zip files.
I downloaded them without any issue, copying and pasting Your lines.
What I mean is that it has already happened to me, more than once, in my case using a download manager, that it downloads a text file, believing that it is the original file that I wanted, and so it keeps the original name, but inside it is really a text file that describes an error.
So, if You check these files with list do You see that they are the first part of a zip file, beginning with PK, or they are something else?
This might be a hint about what is happening.

I seriously doubt this is a generic TCC issue, as you're the only user reporting a problem with FTP transfers. (Which is very widely used by the remaining couple hundred thousand TCC users, including a few dozen times a day by me.)

Try it first without any of your (malformed!) options; i.e., just :

*iftp ftp://lucky.syr.edu/4plugins
*copy ftp:* .

If that works, try adding your options back in one at a time. (Do you have any aliases for COPY?)

If that doesn't work, try restarting Windows.
