BB code is Off?

Apologies for such a trivial question -- but is this setting intentional? I thought at one time the setting was On? Perhaps it is a problem with my browser(s) IE7, FF3, Opera 9.52, my forum settings, or I missed an announcement? For whatever reason, the BB codes themselves are visible here instead of the intended effects in recent posts from a variety of forum members -- including the Administrator. Thanks.

BB codes were turned off because our forums were being attacked by
spammers who were using BB codes to embed links.

I understand now. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

[However, while trying to reply to your post, I could not find the "Post Reply" button and was forced to use the "Quote" button and delete the unwanted generated quote including BB codes -- I must be getting old. ;)]
