    usage rules ??

I tried to look around for the answer to this question, but can't find it at this point... What are the rules, for Take Command, on what machines I can use it on?? I've been using tcc/le for years now; before that, I used 4NT for many years, and 4DOS for many years before that. They all...

What you gonna do, when you get offered with a 2-leg cow?

Actually, if you install tcc/le to your hard disk, then just copy the entire tccle directory to a usb stick, it works just fine. For a given environment, you might need to update your path to reach other non-tccle utilities, but tccle itself works just fine! That's about as portable as one...

    background colours

Hi; I'm the author of Console Palette Changer, and I feel obliged to note, however, that with each successive Windows version, it's become harder and harder to get this program to work properly! The Windows version (console_attr.exe) works with "launch console", but "write palette to registry"...

Thank you *very* much for tcc/le !!!

Okay, I should have sent this message a thousand years ago!! THANK YOU FOR 4DOS, AND 4NT, AND TCC/LE ... I've been a jpsoft supporter since *way* back in the 4DOS days... I first registered 4DOS back with... hmmm... I'm pretty sure it was MSDOS 3.x days. I stuck with 4DOS even after Win95/98...

    tcc/le 12.00.29 - confounded by percent signs

HA!! Hoist by me own petard... your suggestion indeed worked great, and I though that would be the end of, since I don't write batch files and have no need to do percent-sign conversions... except that I *do* use that feature - in my PROMPT!! set prompt=`%@exec[@color 10 on 1 & echos...

    tcc/le 12.00.29 - confounded by percent signs

Okay, one way I can handle it is to put the argument in back-quotes. That will suffice if no configuration-specific options come up here.

    tcc/le 12.00.29 - confounded by percent signs

I'm trying to write a command-line utility, which accepts command-line arguments that contain percent signs. tcc/le is stripping out the percent signs from the input, before passing it to main(). cmd.exe does not do this. Is there something I can do to avoid this translation??

    Take Command / TCMD/LE / TCC/LE 10.0 build 78 uploaded

Actually, tcc/le appears to still be at build 37, was that intentional?

    Console colors

I actually wrote a program which handles console palettes, and lets user edit and load different palettes. You can get this from: You can even make this work with Console2 (a multi-tab control which can run multiple consoles), via a command-line switch. You should be aware, however, that none...

    tcc V11.00.37 - where is history.txt ??

I *known* I've seen the history file (the one that tells what changed from 11.00.35 to 11.00.37, etc, *not* the one that says "what's new in V11"), but every time I actually go looking for it, I can't find it!! Where is that located?? Actually, I wish a sub-version history.txt was...
