Use cases for binary buffers

What are the intended use cases for the relatively new binary buffer functions?

An obvious would be modifications of existing files, just load the file in a buffer, do the modifications and write it back out.

This, I guess, should be enough to make them worthwhile, but are there perhaps also other uses that the rest of TCC is not equipped to handle? Or not handle as well at least.

It would be interesting to hear what other purposes Take Command users have found for them.

Any operation where characters significant to the TCC parser may be present in data. For example, you can find printable strings in a binary file, such as the date and time a jpeg image was created. I use that information to catalog my digital pictures.
