1/ What is the "machinename" parameter? How do I obtain it for another
machine on the network?

2/ ON my hone network, when my WinXP Sp3 system cannot access another
machine (this could be due to invalid machinename parameter in @SERVER
function) TCC reports Windows error message "Overlapped I/O operation is in
progress." What does that mean?

It's up to you to know what machines you have on your network; there is no
Windows API to return that for remote systems.

I have no idea what it means in this context; you'll have to ask Microsoft.
