Several of my recent posts by email to [email protected] did not make it into the NG. Many posts accessible by browser were not delivered to my mail server: many from others, some I made by email, and at least one I made via browser.

I don't know how many times I have to say that there is a problem with the mail server before people will say, "Oh, there's a problem with the mail server, not the forum."

Just once - IF we ever receive the message!

Regardless, for those of us who use the Fora by email, there is no difference between forum failure and mail server failure, just like there is no difference for one attempting to use a subway between a failure due to a derailed train, or a failure of the signalling system, or a failure of the power system. All that matters is that the subway is not running!

Oh, and BTW, you stated somewhere along the line that you are testing a new version of the forum software, so informing you that problems still exist seemed reasonable.

BTW, I emailed a version of this response yesterday at 21:17, but obviously the mail server used it for its dinner.

Well, I don't know what you've done differently, but today anyway, I'm
able to see the names of the people sending the emails again.

Only once - if that message itself is not lost in the mail server. However,
for us ordinary folks out in the wilds of PCland it does not matter what
part of the schema failed - to us "forum" is what we send and receive in our
mail/news client. What does not arrive here does not exist for me, and where
it stops is not relevant.
