How to? Description not copied

Hello -- I have a directory with about 500 files in it -- I wrote a script to rename the files -- one of the files is the "descript.ion" file -- each one of the files has a description --

I noticed after the script/rename finished, some of the files did not have a description any more --

Is there a condition were this could happen?

If you rename the descript.ion file in the middle of the rename, then the rest of the renames wouldn't be able to find a description.

Did your script rename hidden files?

umm ... not sure, but I don't think that was the case --- I will make sure that descript.ion is not touched during the process
