If I've selected text in the command line with Shift-..., how do I cancel the selection? In CMD, one Esc cancels the selection, another erases the command line.

Shift-Esc cancels the selection on my system.

Then, pressing Esc erases the command line.

Shift-Esc cancels the selection (only) if I selected with the mouse. It does nothing if I selected with the keyboard.

On my system, if I select with the keyboard, Shift-Esc cancels the selection.

Ditto with the mouse.

Did you select Quick Edit Mode or Extended text selection keys or Legacy console in the console properties? Because they're all totally different.
QuickEdit=Yes, ExtendedTextSelection=Yes, LegacyConsole=No.
