    DOS programs

Hi all: When I run a DOS16 prog. under XP's CL, I get the choice of starting it in full screen mode, choosing fonts, etc. Can TC provide the same? 'Help' seems to say that ony the 'minimized', 'maximized' state of the window on opening is available as an option. If possible I'd like to do...

    undo tcchere.btm

That was no fun. Tried the above, didn't seem to work (maybe I needed to resart and didn't), so tried direct edit of the registry and ended up with TCMD not working, the TCC screen was a funny grey color and there was no prompt. Had to reinstall using the 'repair' option, which worked fine. Rex...

    undo tcchere.btm

Hi Charles, So there's no existing tool I take it. OK, I'll try your method.

    undo tcchere.btm

Hi All, I ran all of the tc*.btm's to see what they'd do. I want to keep 'TCMD prompt here' and of course the .btm file association but I'd like to undo 'tcchere.btm' is there a way that doesn't involve direct editing of the registry? And undo.btm for that, perhaps? Oh, and I'm not sure...

Pardon, packing list is there in the 'readme'.

    deletable files

Hi All, Just wondering which files in the package can be deleted safely. German.dll sounds like I don't need it. Come to think of it, I've seen software that comes with a 'packing list' that tells you what each file does. Since I want to know TC in detail, such a list would be very helpful.

    %tcmd% vs. CDO

It seems that there are a host of ways to do this, and I found another one: subst v: %@quote[%comspec\..%] but it still seems to me that there should be a built in variable. </[email protected]>

    %tcmd% vs. CDO

%tcmd% gives us the full path to tcmd.exe, and Vince's CDH will take us to the TC main directory, but do we have a variable for the TC main directory itself, i.e. the same as %tcmd% but without 'tcmd.exe' on the end? I'd use it like this (if the variable existed): cdd %tcmdpath% would do the...

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

Hmmm -- I have a 'pushd' aliased to 'cd' and 'cd..', etc, so that must be where it comes from. Anyway, tx. for the additions, I've now got things running in TCC about the same as in 4DOS, excepting CTRL+ vs. ALT+, but I can see that the ALT+ keys need to keep their current use, so it's all for...

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

Well, however you did it, the effect is that a popd after executing one of your commands will 'popd' just as if there was pushd built in i.e. I go back where I came from which is just what I like. I want a pushd (or equivalent) in front of every directory change I make. Repenting of my folly...

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

I see you built a 'pushd' into each command, that's just as I had it, so now using Autohotkey for the time being) I have: Alt+Up = pushd ^ cd.. Alt+Down = cdin Alt+Left = popd Alt+Right = cdnext Violation of symmetry with Alt+Left of course, but I figure that in almost all cases CDPREV and...

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

Many thanks Vince, I'm off to the races, being able to extend TCC sounds like fun, I'm not a bad C programmer myself. Do you/we share SRC? I learn best by mimicry and expansion.

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

Asked too soon, this is a 'plugin', once I have the term, the help page told me how to make it work. But I'd still like to know how one makes such a thing. Most cool of Rex to give us this level of power. The help page mentions keyboard control. Does that mean that it would be possible to...

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

Vince, Grabbed 4utils.zip, but what do I do with it now? How does the .dll work? And, how do you do that? -- add something to TCC?

    pushd popd 'down' and 'next'

Vince, Thanks for the input. It turns out that the bug is due to my using the tilde as my ESCAPECHAR which fouled up the LFNs shorname dislplay. I noticed that 'DOCUME~1' became 'DOCUME1' and that gave it away. So, as previously suggested, I'm now using EscapeChar=24 in tcmd.ini -- I hope...
